Definity Financial Corporation has purchased the personal insurance business and the majority of the commercial insurance business of Travelers Canada. Travelers Canada will continue to operate its leading surety and new home warranty business.

Definity Financial Corporation (Definity) has purchased the personal insurance business and the majority of the commercial insurance business of Travelers Canada. Definity is one of Canada’s leading property and casualty insurers with roots extending back more than 150 years.

As part of this transaction, Travelers Insurance Company of Canada and The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company were acquired by Definity. Rest assured this change in ownership does not affect the policy or coverage for customers.

Travelers Canada will continue to operate its leading surety and home warranty business via St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company (SPFM), a federally and provincially licensed insurer, operating in Canada since 1928. Travelers Canada will continue to be backed by the same trusted Bond leadership and team.
